James Robert Curry was born in Easington, Durham.

He enlisted in West Hartlepool, Durham and was serving in the 17th Battalion, The King’s Liverpool Regiment as Private No 50122 when he was killed in action on the 30th June, 1917.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium

He is also commemorated on the Stained glass window in St Mary the Virgin Church, Easington.
