Harold was born in Leeds in 1898 the son of Thomas and Sarah Ann Wright. 

The 1901 Census shows the family living at 17 Allerton Terrace, Headingley, Leeds. Thomas is 3 years old.

By 1911 the family have moved to St Helen's. At the time of the Census, Harold now 13 is in St Helen's Hospital  which is situated on Marshalls Cross Road. 

Harold enlisted at Knowsley and was serving with the 17th Battalion of The King's Liverpool Regiment as Private 26659 when he was killed in action on 09/04/1917 aged 19. 

His body was not recovered from the battlefield and his name is on the Arras Memorial in France.


His parents were living at 22 Silkstone Street  St Helens when they recorded Harold's death with the CWGC.
